“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful,
we must carry it with us, or we find it not.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emerson’s Essays
you sent me joy,
you gave me flowers,
I sat and glowed
for hours
and hours…
displays in crimson,
gold
and verdant green,
you made a garland
I was like a fairy queen…
in marshy hideouts,
you confessed
abiding love,
bathed in sunlight
showered from above…
and on bright verges
where blossoms lovingly grow,
you charmed me easily
with a radiant show…
light touched me softly
in quiet and gentle shades
I sensed
kindness
and a blushing serenade…
as I entered the holiest
of holy grounds,
in grace and beauty
I was mercifully found…
