Seeing dimly…

“We see but dimly through the mists and vapors; Amid these earthly damps What seem to us but sad, funereal tapers May be heaven’s distant lamps.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

last day

The mists
grew thick,
I fumbled
to see,
was I aloneĀ
in this
reverie?

Bride of the ocean…

Have you ever seen a beached jellyfish sadly waiting like an unrecognizable lump, trapped by sand, hoping the tide will return her to glory…

jellyfish

I found a jellyfish
stranded
and heavy,
motionlessly waiting,
with sand in her belly…

Imprisoned
and helpless,
gasping for her life,
almost forsaken,
her suffering denied…

like a wretched foreigner on alien land,
abandoned
rejected,
choked by hostile sand…

waiting to get back
to the liberation of the seas,
and dive into blue waters,
knowing
she’d be guaranteed,
the freedom of the ocean
away from all harm,
wholeheartedly
embraced,
by the most lovingĀ arms…

then the ocean rescued her, from her prison of sand
and beneath the surface
I glimpsed
a wonderland,
as she moved
with the breakers,
back to her fold,
no longer oppressed,
but completely whole…

dancing in the light of the incoming tide,
her train glowing
like a radiant bride…

The envy of the evergreens….

ā€œHow did the rose ever open its heart and give to this world all its beauty?
It felt the encouragement of light against its Being.
Otherwise, we all remain tooĀ frightenedā€ā€•Ā Hafez

icecream bush

Sprinkled with dew
dressed in cerise,
she caught my eye,
her purpose to please,
and remind me ofĀ
the continuance of life,
a revival of the Earth’s glorious design…

Once inconspicuous
no spark at all
drab and colorless
shyly blushing near the wall…

Until radiance pouredĀ from the heavens andĀ endowed her withĀ divine blessings…

She was once in hiding
not wanting
to be seen,
now she’s the envy of the evergreens…

Five Years…

I’ve been here for five years now.
I was entirely a dreamer when I started out! (nothing has changed)
Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that I would have so many followers.
(725 and counting)
I started out with aĀ  few friends and one family member whoĀ I think felt itĀ was their duty toĀ read my kind of crazy…

I didn’t go into it with a long term plan or really any plan…(I’m not good at goal setting)
My hope was to find myself, spread a little love and be inspired!

As it turns out, I’ve made many friends along the way, lost some (just recently our beloved Natalie from https://sacredtouches.com)
and some have found a life outside blogging. (Is it really possible?)
I still miss them terribly.
(I hope you are reading this wherever you are)

It has been quite an emotional and enlightening rollercoaster ride
of valleys, hell holes, mountaintops, and blue skies…

I was hoping that by now I would be making an income fromĀ my WordPress blog.
(still dreaming)…
but alas I need quite a few hits…(too numerous to mention)
Eight cents just won’t pay the bills! šŸ˜‰

So I’m still here, hopefully still rocking, waxing lyrical and talking out loud…
believing in my own stuff and trying my hardest to be real.

Thank you to all those who follow me, comment and like my posts.
You mean the world to me, and if it wasn’t for you guys,
I wouldn’t have stayed so long…
I’ve been inspired, encouraged, mesmerized, captivated, amused, entertained and consoled.

Lost…

ā€œLive one day at a time. Keep your attention in present time. Have no expectations. Make no judgments. And give up the need to know why things happen as they do. Give it up!ā€
ā€•Ā Caroline Myss,Ā Why People Don’t Heal and How They Can: A Practical Programme for Healing Body, Mind and Spirit

lost

Sometimes I get lost
out beyond the tracks,
heartache intensifies,
thereā€™s no going back…
to expectations
or beliefs,
once held,
confessions of grief
my substance melds…

derailed by sorrow,
for it’s taken my life
in the midst of darkness
Iā€™m dead inside…

and I surrender to Providence,
what must be,
acquiescing to the Universe
and what I canā€™t see…

hoping that dawn
will incinerate the pain,
pluck me
from the terror
of deadly domains…

Shine on my countenance
rewrite the script,
save me from the psychosis of feeling adrift…

The virtuoso of re-runs…

Day twenty-three…

“When I rise up let me rise up joyful like a bird.”
ā€•Ā Wendell Berry

robin

he alights on foliage of green
his breast almost tangerine
and every day he intervenes…

while basking in the autumn sun
his praise comparable to none
the virtuoso of re-runs..

his feathers glisten at first light
my robin sings with such delight
preaching till the world is right…

Hanging in obscurity…

ā€œSell your cleverness and buy bewilderment. Cleverness is mere opinion, bewilderment is intuition.ā€
ā€• Rumi

bewilderment

Day Twenty-two…

Hanging in obscurity
light and darkness gathersĀ
in a dance
of elements
colors scatter…

and the moon plays its part
by beaming
across the plains
holding onto dreams
of treasured remains…

an artists rendition
of radiance reborn
light envelopes
darkness
in whispered form…

and textures play
fusing with the skies
bewildered impressions
intensified…

positioned
in darkness
luminosity streams
incantations of twilight
grace
intervenes…
