“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
― William W. Purkey
When we were in Cape Town, we stayed opposite a house where friends used to live. It had been sold, and was left almost derelict. As I peeked through the fence it brought back a flood of memories…
A grand old lady,
she once stood tall,
with the echo of laughter
within her walls…
garden parties
and peach champagne,
children dancing
unrestrained…
soirees in the afternoons
Shania Twain
made us swoon…
and we sang the songs
of yesteryear,
drenched by halcyon atmospheres…
days that seemed so simple
and nights filled
with stars,
now we ponder our reflections,
and recall
who we are…
magical creatures
attracted to light,
sojourners of these lands,
pilgrims
and worshipers
of a great expanse…
though overgrown
with weeds,
she’d seen
better days,
her light still emanates
and her grounds
remember praise…
Let’s reimagine favor
and reappoint cheer,
live as if it’s heaven on earth,
and hold each moment dear…
our beings are built for motion,
and we must comply,
as we live inside the changes
like strange butterflies…

“our beings are built for motion,
and we must comply,
as we live inside the changes
like strange butterflies…”
Such a wonderful launch into Self in the last verse.

You’re most welcome. It all just comes together there with a density and eternity of presence to then expand, like the center of the Universe plays a single dance step of the coastline in its ebb and flow as one, and then heaves to expand.

I absolutely love this. It must be serendipity because I return to gardens which we once knew.
