Thinking out loud…

‘Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.’
~Mary Oliver

dandelions

Search for fields
of dandelions,
wish upon shooting stars…

imbibe the splendor
of the night skies
write secret memoirs…

Be gentle
with each earthling
learn someone else’s creed…

Slow dance
with your best friend,
notice those who are in need…

Hold tea parties in the forest,
don’t be too rushed,

never force
your opinions,
allow offense to turn to dust…

Dress up if it pleases you,
question every fad,

let music be your inspiration,
weep when you are sad…

See light in every human,
encourage those
who go astray,

Keep your judgments
in check,
as kindness finds its way…

be tender with the downcast,
hold truth in awe,

learn the blessings
of forgiveness,
make love your only law!

bejewel yourself
with nature,
let compassion
be your guide,

with thanksgiving
and wonder
be quietly satisfied…

  1. Ally, this is a very lovely poem, the sentiment in this one is really beautifully explored in such a positive and inspirational way. It literally blew me away while reading it, I sincerely appreciate the exuberance of your words expressing utmost kindness above all else! I also notice that you have written other impressive motivational poems in the month of April, including three other favourites of mine ‘Dreaming…’, ‘It’s a kind of Magic…’ and ‘Enfolded by light…’.

I have an inspirational poetry journal called “Auroras & Blossoms Poetry Journal” that has just published its third issue and we are running a special NaPoWriMo Anthology issue for inspirational poems written in NaPoWriMo 2020. If you are interested in submitting any or all of the wonderful poems of yours that I just mentioned above (including your Day 28 entry above) into our NaPoWriMo Anthology for publication then you can find more details below. We are also open to regular submissions all year round as well for inspirational poetry submissions.

The deadline for the NaPoWriMo Anthology is 15th May 2020.

Hope you take the time to check us out, I’m sure our readers would love to get a chance to enjoy reading your poetry 🙂
