Merciful Dew

“The people who know God well—mystics, hermits, prayerful people, those who risk everything to find God—always meet a lover, not a dictator.”
― Richard RohrEverything Belongs: The Gift of Contemplative Prayer

That sound I hear in my head,
that taste I feel on my breath.
Faith and hope
I imagine,
needs compassion,
when it’s lost in the waters,
crimson rivers,
of the slaughtered.
I hear them say life is freer.
Sheer wretchedness
cracks the ether.
A cosmos that we cling to,
the courageous
gently break through.
Things are getting clearer.
They say the end
is nearer,
nothing we can do

I take deep breaths of merciful dew,
when I’m hidden in you.
Peace and love
I imagine,
needs some passion.
When the fire’s getting closer,
we fall into
Some say life is cheaper.
Bring a paradigm shift,
awaken sleeper.
The truth will materialize,
when scales fall from our eyes.
A Loving Creator,
we will worship,
in our hunger,
we are searching
to be real…
