summer-6The warmth of summer is upon us,
her heart laid deep in the earth.
The birds and the bees are buzzing,
as nature joins in with the mirth.

The memory of winter is behind us
as shoots are allowed to spring forth.
There’s a joyous festivity of flowers,
when swallows return from the north.

Butterflies are dancing in celebration,
the breeze grows balmy and bright,
the evenings are alive with crickets,
and the stars enjoy clear view at night.

The dark sky gives way to morning
when the cockerel says his hello.
All around is a magical atmosphere
and the dew on the grass is aglow.

I’ve loved those halcyon summers
when the warm sea is my escape.
The blush of a suntan is showing
and iridescent skies above the landscape!
